PRE-HALF MARATHON

Hello everyone, I’m just getting ready to head downtown for my first half marathon. I’m extremely nervous. Don’t think I’m that ready, but we’ll see how it goes. I’m doing this half marathon in the hopes that next year I can do the full, and also climb Kilimanjaro.  So this is sort of really pre-pre-prep work for it. Um, yeah, so I guess here we go. I’ll talk to you afterwards!

POST-HALF MARATHON

Alright, so I’m back…um, it went really well. I was surprised actually how well it went, considering the lack of preparation. But I finished in 2:04, which is better than my initial goal, well my initial goal was two hours, but without the training I was trying for 2:30. So I was very happy about that. Some hilarious things I saw were a woman peeing in a bush, and that was pretty ridiculous considering there were port-o-potties everywhere. Um there was also a bunch of hilarious signs, some of which were “whine now, wine later” but spellings changed, and I also saw one that said, “you are the slowest runner so far!” So that was a little bit sad, but it was really good overall.

I think, um, 21K is not…it’s definitely doable. So I think the goal for next year is going to be to do the full marathon, and I’ll obviously have to do a lot more training than I did this year, but I’m very excited about the prospect. And I’ve got a medal! So I’m really excited, I think I’m probably going to get engraved with my time cuz I actually was not expecting to do as well as I did, so that’s exciting. I’ll post some photos as well so you guys can check them out. Thanks again for listening!]

  1. Hi Andrea,
What? I had no idea you were into such extreme sports. Nice video, you look like you feel better after the run than before!
